Edelman B.V. in Reeuwijk takes over the activities of Novara B.V. in Alblasserdam
Recently, after thorough deliberation, Edelman B.V. and Novara B.V. have reached an agreement for the complete transfer of trade as of 9 November 2010.
Novara B.V is a prominent supplier of silk flowers and plants supplying numerous large retailers throughout the whole of Europe. Novara is unique in its concept, whereby the flowers and plants are first modelled before distribution. Furthermore, Novara has numerous successful display concepts that are predominantly implemented in garden centres and the DIY sector.
Besides the assets, Edelman B.V. also takes over several experienced employees.
The take-over is part of the strategy of Edelman B.V. to augment the current supply of silk flowers and plants. Besides Edelman’s strategic core activities, such as artificial Christmas trees (under brand names like Triumph Tree and Black Box Trees) and ceramics, silk flowers and plants are an important strategic growth sector in which a start was made earlier in 2010 by integrating Euro-Decor B.V.
With the addition of Novara, Edelman takes a leading position in this branch.
As a result of the merger of both companies, Edelman B.V. expects to realize its growth ambitions during the coming years. Novara will continue to operate under its own name as a business unit of Edelman B.V. Edelman B.V. is an important market player for indoor and outdoor decorations, and also offers a broad supply of Christmas products. Edelman supplies to garden centres, DIY chains, florists, wholesalers and warehouses all over Europe.
As of 1 December, when Edelman presents its new autumn-winter collection 2011, Novara will show its new collection of silk flowers and plants in Reeuwijk. Novara will also be present at the international fairs where Edelman exhibits as well, starting with Christmasworld 2011 in Frankfurt.
