Anita and Guido Rotherbaum together with their children Tim and Paulie represent one of Schneewald's young farming families who offer a few rooms for ski tourists. There's no time for this in the summer because all hands are needed on the farm. Then the cows on the slopes have to be milked and the hens and geese fed. The dozens of eggs have to be delivered to buyers such as Annemarie Britz's hotel that serves the eggs for breakfast and Bernhard Blumberg's bakery where famous cakes are made. But the most time-consuming is the Edelweiss Alm Goats Cheese. This alone almost takes up Anita's entire day. It is because the cheese is so delicious that people find their way to the farm from near and far. Mayor Wöltendorf even came up with the idea of giving away small cheeses to ski tourists as a souvenir of Schneewald, but Guido doesn't entirely agree with this. He thinks they should come and buy it. Just as wood worker, Wilhelmus Ratinger does. He loves it so much he consumes at least three cheeses a week. He is convinced this helps him keep his strength up.
