Rathaus Schneewald

Mayor Alfred Wöltendorf sees his stately Rathaus as the way in for tourism.  That's why he has established a tourist information centre right next to the richly decorated council chambers. Here, summer walkers can purchase walking maps and take a look at the events calendar. Skiers can find information at the Rathaus about available rooms. Both Annemarie Britz from the Schneewalder hotel, and Elsa Lümberg from the Lindenhütte notify Carmen, Alfred's wife, who is also responsible for the information centre’s administration, daily regarding vacancies. Anita Rotherbaum from the Edelweiss Alm also informs Carmen if she has a vacancy, but this does not happen often because she only has four rooms and is very popular, especially among skiers. You can also obtain information about the weather at the Rathaus, enabling you to know whether or not it is responsible to go into the mountains. Heinrich Hagelkorst of the "Wetterstation" supplies Carmen each morning with weather information. To add to the merry atmosphere in Schneewald, at about five o'clock Alfred Wöltendorf has two Tyrolean hornblowers give a small concert each day for new arrivals in front of the Rathaus.
